Reviews no. 11-14: Kilchoman Limited Releases 2026
I had a look at four Kilchoman Founder’s cask releases a couple of weeks ago, all nearing their 20s, and all excellent. Since then, I’ve had in my glass four of their recent “limited” editions (limited only in the sense that whisky marketers in their abuse of the English language interpret the word, they’re pretty… Continue reading

Review no. 3: Edradour 12-year-old “Caledonia”
This 12-year-old Edradour is named after Dougie Maclean’s “Caledonia”, a sentimental little number making Scotsmen cry since 1977. The cover by Paolo Nutini is excellent. However, if Edradour was a song, it would be this beautiful ballad about drinking petrol by the Estonian punk band Vennaskond. It’s an uncompromising little distillery producing one of the… Continue reading

Reviews no. 1 & 2: Glencadam 10 / Balblair 12
Best of the old-style highlanders. Welcome to the first review! I set this blog up about six months ago, wishing for a bit more flexibility in what and how I write, beyond what’s appropriate for whiskybase. I won’t go into the (positive) life events that got in the way. We’re here now, so let’s crack… Continue reading
